CITIES PUSH FOR ILLEGALS TO VOTE...

Some Cities Want Their Noncitizen Immigrants to Vote San Francisco considers opening up local elections to newcomers. by Caroline Winter A pedestrian walks toward a polling place sign during the presidential primary election in San Francisco on June 7, 2016.   Photographer: David Paul Morris/Bloomberg Look at illegal immigrants voting all over the country,” Donald Trump recently claimed in a Fox News interview, part of his ongoing effort to cast doubt on the integrity of the presidential election. There’s no evidence to support the Republican nominee’s claims of election fraud, but some cities are moving to expand voting rights to include noncitizens. The latest is San Francisco, where the Nov. 8 ballot will include a measure allowing the parents or legal guardians of any student in the city’s public schools to vote in school board elections. The right would be extended to those with green cards, visas, or no documentation at all. “One out of three kids in the San...

Venezuelan president threatens to jail opponents

Shrugging off a partially-observed strike which the opposition called to raise pressure on him, the socialist president went on the counterattack. Maduro sharpened the tone in a volatile political and economic crisis that has sparked food shortages and riots in the South American oil producer. "If they launch a supposed political trial, which is not in our constitution, the state prosecution service must bring legal action in the courts and put in jail anyone who violates the constitution, even if they are members of Congress," Maduro said in a speech Friday. Friday's strike was called after authorities blocked a bid...

Soldier now fighting the Pentagon...

Image
wounded California Guard soldier served four combat tours. Now he's fighting the Pentagon Retired California National Guard Master Sgt. Bill McLain  ( Isaac Brekken / For The Times ) David S. Cloud Contact Reporter   Each month, she writes “blood money” on the $100 check — the token amount the McLains pay on the $30,000 debt they deny owing — that she sends to the Pentagon. “Shame on you. Extortion,” she writes on the envelope. The Pentagon cashes each check. Facing a groundswell of public outrage, the Pentagon scrambled this week to temporarily suspend its demands for thousands of California Guard soldiers to repay enlistment bonuses and other incentives they were given to go to war. But McLain and other soldiers who were wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan may still be required to repay their bonuses, one of several apparent exceptions in the proposed Pentagon solution. Two weeks before McLain left to fight in Afghanistan in early 2...

GRUBER ON RISING PREMIUMS: OBAMACARE WORKING AS DESIGNED

Image
Obamacare architect actually admits the truth Kit Daniels  - OCTOBER 26, 2016   347 Comments   Amid skyrocketing insurance premiums, Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber says the law is “working as designed.” In an interview with CNN, Gruber claimed the premium increases only “applies to a very small fraction” of the population, a claim that’s easily debunked by the countless price increase letters Americans are posting on Facebook and Twitter. “The law is working as designed,” he said. “However, it could work better, and I think probably the most important thing experts would agree on is that, we need a larger mandate penalty.” A man in  Georgia, Jay Wells, is already paying over $700 a month for a low-tier family plan with a $5500 deductible. In January, he will have to pay nearly $1900 a month for the exact same plan, or $22,000 a year, which is  nearly the poverty line for a family of four . View image on Twitter  Foll...

OBAMACARE ARCHITECT GRUBER DEMANDS “LARGER MANDATE PENALTY”

Image
Bureaucrat who said "stupidity" of Americans helped get law passed doubles down Paul Joseph Watson  - OCTOBER 26, 2016   523 Comments   Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber – the bureaucrat who once bragged that the “stupidity” of the American people was crucial for passing the health care law in the first place – told CNN that the “fix” for Obamacare was to impose a “larger mandate penalty”. CNN’s CAROL COSTELLO:  “So let’s talk about how exactly you can fix Obamacare. I just need you to be specific because I think people really want answers. So Hillary Clinton says she can fix Obamacare. So what would one fix that would drive premiums down?” JONATHAN GRUBER:  “Look, once again, there’s no sense it has to be fixed. The law is working as designed. However, it could work better. And I think, probably the most important things experts would agree on is we need a larger mandate penalty“… Gruber’s arrogance is incredible. Even after the Obama adminis...

Street challenges power in Venezuela crisis

Image
View photos Opposition deputies argue with government representatives during a National Assembly special session, in Caracas (AFP Photo/Juan Barreto) More Caracas (AFP) - Venezuela's political rivals faced a test of strength Wednesday, with the opposition vowing mass street protests as President Nicolas Maduro resists efforts to drive him from power. The socialist president and center-right-dominated opposition accuse each other of mounting a "coup" in a volatile country rich in oil but short of food. The crisis prompted Pope Francis to intervene on Monday, granting a private audience to Maduro, who said the sides had agreed to launch a "national dialogue" to settle the crisis. Leaders in the broad opposition coalition, the Democratic Unity Roundtable (MUD), denied they had reached any agreement with the government on the terms of any talks. They are furious at the authorities' decision last week to halt their bid for a referendum on rem...

Michelle Obama's Promotion of Misogyny and Date Rape

Image
By  William A. Levinson Michelle Obama  laid into  Donald Trump for his lewd locker room remarks about women as follows: "I can't stop thinking about this. It has shaken me to my core in a way I could not have predicted" -- whereupon the  White House  warned Trump to not retaliate against the First Lady. "And the White House on Thursday advised that Trump continue to steer clear of the president's wife, suggesting that an unprecedented attack on the first lady is a surefire way for the GOP nominee's standing to plummet further." Well, Eric Schultz (and presumably Barack Obama), here is what you can do with your warning. Donald Trump's statements, which were probably empty boasts in contrast to Bill Clinton's well-known behavior, were indeed lewd and unacceptable. While two wrongs do not make a right,  Michelle and Barack Obama have openly promoted rap artists who glorify misogyny, sexual objectification of women, and even date rape ....
