States like California and New York are forcing restaurants and bars to only serve alcohol with meals. That prompted some establishments to add special menu items so that patrons who just wanted a drink didn’t have to order an entire meal. But now that tactic has caught the eye of Comrade-Governors Newsom and Cuomo. They have decided that not only is it within their power to tell restaurants if they are allowed to serve drinks and food, but these Governors also claim the power to dictate what counts as a meal. This is nothing new, but for some strange reason, the political puppets need you all to wear a mask. Jim Murren, the head of Nevada’s coronavirus task force says it is “not your right to not wear a mask.” This lacks logic on all fronts. It’s still difficult to figure out why they are so desperate to get as many people as possible in face masks unless this isn’t about logic at all, but control. Murren, who heads the Nevada COVID-19 Response, Relief, and Recovery Task Force,  made the comments at the Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance’s Las Vegas Perspective event on Tuesday . The Netherlands has decided not to mandate the wearing of face masks in public, citing the fact that there is no scientific evidence to suggest they are effective against the spread of the coronavirus. “From a medical perspective there is no proven effectiveness of masks, the Cabinet has decided that there will be no national obligation for wearing non-medical masks”  announced Netherlands Minister for Medical Care Tamara van Ark. The country’s National Institute for Health (RIVM) noted that it is aware of studies from other countries that purport to show masks slow the spread of disease, but will not be heeding them. Minnesota Attorney General and former vice-chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) Keith Ellison suggested that women who are victims of sexual assault should contact a therapist instead of calling the police on their assailant. The Federalist reports that Ellison made the remarks during a Zoom discussion with Rep. Karen Bass (D-CA), one of the prospective Democratic vice-presidential candidates. “If you’re a woman who’s been a victim of a sexual assault, and the assailant ran away, wouldn’t you rather talk to somebody who is trained in helping you deal with what you’re dealing with, as opposed to somebody whose main training is that they know how to use a firearm? Update (1240ET):  The Ohio Board of Pharmacy withdrew a rule preventing the use of hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19 after Governor Mike DeWine called on the board to halt the rule, according to the  Dayton Daily News . "As a result of the feedback received by the medical and patient community and at the request of Gov. DeWine, the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy has withdrawn proposed rule 4729:5-5-21 of the Administrative Code," reads a Thursday statement from the board. "Therefore,  prohibitions on the prescribing of chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine in Ohio for the treatment of COVID-19 will not take effect at this time. " The board will reexamine the rule with the help of the State Medical Board of Ohio, clinical experts and stakeholders to determine the next step. The rule, which was scheduled to go into effect today, would prohibit pharmacies from selling or dispensing hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine for coronavirus unless the use is app

Popular grocery chain Trader Joe’s is pushing back against cancel culture after an online petition demanded the chain remove “racist packaging” from its products. Trader Joe’s resisted claims that its ethnic food brands, such as “Trader Jose” and “Trader Ming”, are racist and said the company makes decisions based on customer purchases and feedback. “We want to be clear: we disagree that any of these labels are racist. Americans working at three different training academies in China told higher-ups their Chinese co-workers were abusing players and failing to provide an adequate education as league commissioner Adam Silver promised. During an interview with ABC News on Wednesday, Dr. Fauci advised Americans to wear “eye protection” such as goggles or eye shields to protect themselves from COVID-19. “If you have goggles or an eye shield, you should use it,” Fauci said. “It’s not universally recommended, but if you really want to be complete, you should probably use it if you can.” Read more
